The food is extremely good. Definitely one of the best vegetarian restaurants I have been to. A really good choice of starters and mains, all very interesting with a wide range of ingredients.

Visited the waiting room twice in the last month and it never disappoints! Great vegetarian food and they change the menu often. Delicious wine and friendly service. Can be a little cold inside especially if you’re seated in the room at the back so just bring a jumper. Would definitely recommend a visit!!

Visited The Waiting Room to have lunch for our wedding anniversary. I was a little apprehensive before as this would be the first time at a vegetarian/vegan only restaurant and I was worried about the choice available. I shouldn’t have worried because the choice was excellent and the food was very tasty. Excellent portion sizes as well. Will definitely be visiting again.

Thus is the best vegetarian restaurant in the country! Redisvovered my favourite dish here: enchiladas filled with puy lentils topped with soured cream, salsa and jalapenos. Mmmmmm. Couldn't eat all the jalapenos , though.

Really lovely restaurant. They were able to adapt several menu items to be vegan. The nut roast was delicious. Huge portion so had to get the chocolate tart to go which was absolutely amazing. Service was great too, wish we lived closer!

We popped by for lunch and got a table without a problem despite not booking. The menu was fully vegetarian and really imaginative. I'm not vegetarian myself, however you don't miss meat as the dishes are interesting and tasty. The food was tasty when it came and we didn't have to wait too long. The only thing that would've improved the experience was if the service had been a little more attentive as our plates weren't cleared after dessert and we had to go to the counter and wait for some time without being acknowledged to pay the bill. This wouldn't put me off returning though.

Had meal on Tuesday 20/5/25. Had Sweet Potato/Broccoli crumble with dolcelatte custard. Not keen on dolcelatte so it was left out. The custard was so flavourful! The broccoli was al dente and the pots cooked to perfection. The apple salad added welcome crispy texture and addition fresh flavour. I really enjoyed this meal and would highly recommend it. One slightly low note: I did expect a traditional 'crumble' type crust/topping but it was a rather lazy sprinkling of oat and seeds. It did not detract from the lushiousness of the, meal but I did rather wonder why it was there at all if a more substantial crumble (which I feel would have improved the dish with a counter soft texture to the crispy apple slaw texture and taste contrast) was not employed. As we were stuffed, my companions and I shared a fresh, Lemony Eton Mess which we greatly enjoyed. My fellow diners also enjoyed their main dishes, as we always do. Service was exemplary and accommodating as usual, and in a very busy restaurant on a Tuesday night! Long may The Waiting Room thrive!

Fabulous food, recommended to us by a meat eater who didn't know we were vegetarian. We had two mains and had to share a dessert because we were both full and that is not an easy thing to manage in my case. The food was rich and really tasty and, although we ordered hearty food in the Enchiladas and Mushroom Bourguignon, they were both showing of delicate flavours in with the belly filling vibe. The celeriac dumplings were just amazing! They even had some decent beers to go with. I'm pretty sure we'll be back when we are next in Stockton.
